英國短片導演George Wu一開始是學習平面設計，
但在創作過程中常與不同領域的藝術家合作，產生各種火花。
她不只是平面設計師，也創作動畫和裝置，還是策展人。

現在是Nexus Productions and Nexus Interactive Arts的影片及裝置藝術總監，同時也是一年兩次的設計商店“Poundshop”的創辦人。

George Wu將分享她跨領域的作品和創作觀點。

George Wu是平面設計師，也創作動畫及裝置藝術，藝術總監也是動畫及影片導演，她的作品曾受到Shots, Idn and Grafik Magazine等雜誌的報導。最初搬到倫敦時，她以平面設計的身份尋找未來的道路，經過幾年焦慮的日子，她試圖讓BBC給予機會拍攝ㄧ支音樂短片。

在2006所拍攝的這支短片，不僅讓她順利獲得皇家藝術學院碩士學位，同時獲得Jerwood Moving Image Award 2008 的提名。
從那時起，她的工作內容ㄧ直是超乎想像、充滿各種可能性，融合了個人興趣及外界的合作。

她曾營運創意組織“Household”，以裝置藝術和工作坊探索世界。作品曾在Tokyo 100％、DMY Berlin、Design Miami和Fendi Milan的CRAFT PUNK中展出。

現在她是Nexus Productions and Nexus Interactive Arts的影片及裝置藝術總監，同時也是一年兩次的設計商店“Poundshop”的創辦人。

“The Poundshop”在2013年得到The H Club 100創意企業家獎及入選英國Selfridges的Bright Young Things。已開張營業15次的Poundshop，不只是在英國境內的Selfridges, Somerset House , ICA等地，甚至也在日本東京、 法國Au Pont Rouge、俄羅斯St Petersburg等地展出。

George Wu將在這次的講座中分享多重身分的作品和創作觀點，談論她如何地在有機的嘗試及挫敗之間，試圖找到自己的定位。

George Wu works as a video director and art director who has been showcased in
Shots, Idn and Grafik Magazine. Originally moving to London to seek her fortune as a graphic designer, she felt restless after a few years and managed to lure the BBC into awarding her a BBC new music short in 2006. This first production led to an MA at the Royal College of Art and a nomination for the Jerwood Moving Image award in 2008.
Since then her career path has been unexpected and varied, due to a mix of personal interests and external events. From running a creative agency ‘Household’ exploring the world of installations and workshops. Showcasing in Tokyo 100%, DMY Berlin and featured at Craft Punk by Design Miami/Fendi Milan. To present day where she works as a video and installation director at Nexus Productions and Nexus Interactive Arts and is a founder of a bi-annual design shop, The Poundshop. Appearing over 15 times in the UK including shops at Selfridges, Somerset House , ICA in London and around the world at Loft, Tokyo and Au Pont Rouge, St Petersburg. The Poundshop was awarded as H Club 100 Creative Entrepreneurs in 2013 and Bright Young Things by Selfridges.
Using her own work to illustrate in this talk, George Wu will discuss the organic trial and error nature of trying to find a place in the design world.
